What is this page?

The Corpus Dashboard is your starting point for exploring the RunoVerse collection. It provides a bird's-eye view of 292K Finnic runosong poems across Estonian and Finnish traditions, with quick links to every research tool in the system.

Hero statistics

The eight cards at the top summarise the corpus scope: total poems, unique lemmas, verse lines, word tokens, treasure legends, ATU tale types, dictionary headwords, and the number of explorer pages available.

Charts and visualisations

Collection Timeline shows when poems were gathered (hover for exact counts; click a bar to open the timeline explorer). Corpus Composition shows the proportion of each sub-corpus (ERAB, JR, SKVR). Semantic Domains ranks the most frequent topical categories, split by language. Grammatical Profile shows the 15 most common morphological categories.

Discover section

Six highlight cards present notable facts — shared vocabulary, cognate pairs, substitution relationships, dictionary coverage, and verse similarity scope.

Research question guide

Not sure where to begin? The question cards suggest common research paths (e.g. comparing traditions, exploring emotions, studying poetic form) and link directly to the relevant explorer pages.

Explorer grid

The tile grid at the bottom links to all 65 individual explorers and guides. Each tile shows a key statistic so you can gauge the data available before clicking through.
