Kun pelästyy ja siitä nousee punaisia "äkämii" l. "Maanennii" (pieni musta pää, ei paisumia), niin otetaan puhdasta vettä, jolla pestään kipeät kohdat. Sitten se vesi (verhat) viedään siihen paikkaan jossa on pelästynyt ja heitetään kädellä maahan lukemalla:
