The archive’s description

Written by the editors of the SKVR type index and quoted as it stands, in Finnish.

Laulu: Johdantosäkeinä isäntäväen puhuttelua: Keltä mie kysyn tuvaista? Peremies, pereisäntä / Isäntäin, vaarisein, emäntäin, muorisein / Hoi isännät, hoi emännät jne. Ydinaihe tuvan pyyntö tanssia varten: Antele tätä tupaista, lainaele lattiaista meiän leikin lyyväksemme, tanssin tallaellaksemme - kuin et antele tuvaista, mie ulos ovia myöten / ulos meitä uksi viepi / vien pellolle perreen / vien pellolle tupasi - sitten tanssin tanhualla, keikun keskellä pihaa - otsa ei ortehe kolaha, pää ei pamaha patsahaa, jalat ei sillan liitoksee. Joskus uhkaillaan, joskus kiitellään tuvan antajia (ks. Kiitos isännälle, emännälle tuvasta; Laulan tähän taloon).

Inkerissä yhdistyy Talkoovirren ja Kiletoivirren sisääntulopyyntöihin, joissa isäntäväkeä puhutellaan samantapaisin alkusäkein, Savo-Karjalassa Laulajan palkka -aiheisiin (Laulaisin, jos olutta tuotaisiin).

Tanssiselostus: Lauletaan tupaan mennessä.

Nimityksiä ja kontekstitietoja: Leikkivirs (V2 1950, tantsuvirs (V3), tanssilaulu (IV 716, "Kummavirs" (IV 2549) ym.
