The archive’s description
Written by the editors of the SKVR type index and quoted as it stands, in Finnish.
Ydinaihe: Virolainen, venäläinen, karjalainen, virrenseppä (Väinämöinen) veti reessä (veneessä) virsiään - reki törmäsi kiveen, kotini portinpieleen jne., kaatui - virret putosivat (vierivät, virtasivat) maahan, josta minä ne poimin: esiliinaani, huiviini, kerälle - kerän laitoin kirstuun jne. (> Virsikerä); näin minusta tuli laulaja.
§§§Jatkona usein laulajan kerskauksia virsien paljoudesta, >Sillon laulan konsa joudan ym. Kannaksen piirissä minän tilalla voi olla joku muukin yhteisössä tunnettu laulaja.
