Ydinaihe: Mies tulee saareen, dialogi saaren neitojen kanssa ("onko saarella sijoa?"), mies makaa neidot "yhtenä kesäisnä yönä", poistuu tai ajetaan pois saaresta, neitojen itku ("en itke purjepuuta, itken purjepuun alaista"). - Tähän on koottu Lemminkäisen virren ja Kaukamoisen virren Saaren neidot -jakson lisäksi muutkin Saaren neidot -aiheiset tekstit (mm. Rutsa-runosta, sekä vienalainen Laivaretken jatkona seuraava Saaren neidot, jossa Väinämöinen on sankarina).
