The archive’s description
Written by the editors of the SKVR type index and quoted as it stands, in Finnish.
Ydinaihe: Johdanto (erityisesti Inkerissä): Kasvatti emo kanoja (vrt. lyriikka: Kasvatti emo kanoja ja Haukka hajotti emon lapset), köyhän pelto, kanto kasvoi meressä. Kalervon ja Untamon kasvaminen (vrt. Piispa Henrikin surmavirren alku) Kalervon ja Untamon vihamielisyydet. Sodan alku: havaitaan ikkunasta Untamon joukkojen tulo, emon pään karsiminen, metsän aseistaminen. Kalervon väen tuho. Lapsi kätkyessä nauraa miekalle, kätkyen heilunnan kuvaus. Poikaa yritetään tuhota eri tavoin. Rovion rakentaminen ja poltto, lapsi leikkii hiilillä, mittaa lusikalla meren vettä yms. (Ks. Sananlaskut: Melkein on meressä vettä.)
