The archive’s description

Written by the editors of the SKVR type index and quoted as it stands, in Finnish.

Suppeita orpouden luonnehdintoja: minulla ei ole isoa, emoa, turvaa, kyntäjää, armon antajaa, suin sulin puhelijaa, kassan koskijaa, kiukaalle käskijää, hurstin huolijaa, pyhäpaijan pyytäjää, vyöllä vyöttäjää, voikupin kulettajaa, kielen kastajaa, kivenpuusta kieltäjää, kynnyksellä kysyjää: Onko kynnet kylmäneet, varpaat paleltuneet? Usein kuvataan itsen vastakohtaa: Katso muita tyttölöitä ja muita kotikanoja, kun emot ehittelee, vyöttelee jne. (ks. samantyyppisiä vertailuja Kellä ei ehtoista emoista, sillä ei salapalaista; Kun muille pyhät tulevat). Jatkona usein: Tuli tuuli, antoi turvan, tuli päivä, pään silitti (III-IV; ks. Yksi on tuuli turvanani). Pituus vaihtelee säeparista laajahkoonkin kokonaisuuteen.

Samoja ei-ole-minulla -ilmauksia esiintyy laajalti orvon aiheiden johdantosäkeissä, ks. esim. >Emo on kuollut kuusi vuotta, Minun on turva turpehessa, >Kiven alla kieltäjäni; Huoliensa haastelija; >Ääni - vieno, pieni).
