The archive’s description

Written by the editors of the SKVR type index and quoted as it stands, in Finnish.

Kokonaiskuvan saamiseksi Ison tammen runosta on välttämätöntä katsoa myös kaikki >Pistoksen loitsun yhteydessä esiintyvät Ison tammen tekstit, sillä tähän on poimittu viitteet vain niihin teksteihin, joissa ei ole selkeästi loitsuun kuuluvia pistoksen sanoja (pistosnuolten synty ja ampuminen). Vienassa Iso tammi esiintyy myös Tulen synnyn osana, viitteet poimittu tähän. Ison tammen runoon liittyy erilaisia johdantoja: Jouduin juottoon jumalan (ks. tätä) erityisesti Länsi-Inkerissä, >Neljä neittä löytää terhon (ks. tätä) erityisesti Keski-Inkerissä. Muita johdantoaiheita: Löysin tieltä tammen terhon, Laulan tähän taloon tammen tanhualle; Kirjo katos karjastani. Loppujaksoista Länsi-Inkerissä on yleisin aihe Virpoi otti saunan selkäänsä (ks. tätä). Luoja kylpemään -aihelma on harvinainen (IV2 1846-1847).
