The archive’s description
Written by the editors of the ERAB type index and quoted as it stands, in Estonian.
ERlA 1203. Kus istun — seal itken: iseseisva lauluna esineb väheste üleskirjutustega eL. Motiivina on tuntud üle maa (välja arvatud Lääne-Eesti, peamiselt saared). Siia liitub kergesti muid laule ja motiive (tavaliselt orjus-, vaeslapse- ja murelaulud). Eriti püsiv liide on lauluga 1357 («Tilluke teomees») Põhja-Eestis ja lauluga 1591 ("Vara vaeslapseks") Lõuna-Eestis; sageli liitub siia ka 1208 («Kellele kurdan»), 1206 («Memm tegi vara vaevasärgi»). Vt. ka 1204, 1590, 1600, 1601, 1632.
