Ähkyn syntyaihelmat ovat lähinnä lyhyitä mainintoja tai luetteloja ähkytaudin aineksista, joilla ei ole selkeää, muihin syntyihin profiloituvaa luonnetta. Ähkyn syntyyn on yhdistetty Pistoksen syntyihin nivoutuvat kertovat aihelmat Yhdeksän taudin synty (VI, VII, IX, XII) sekä 3 pahan poikaa ja pistosnuolten ammunta (VII, XII). Yleisimmät ähkytaudin syntyainekset ovat sysipuut, kekäleet, hiilet ja puun kuoret tai kosken kuohut ja meren vaahto (I, VI, VII, VII5M, IX, X, XI, XII). Aineksina tai vanhempina voidaan mainita esim. äimän kärköset (IX, XI, XII), suo ja maa (VII, IX, XI, XII), teräs, vaski ja noki (X, XI), naisen tai hevosen genitaalit tai eläinten ulosteet (VI, VII5M, X, XI). Ähkytaudin "ruumiinosien" ainekset voidaan myös luetella pitkinä, Käärmeen synnyssä tyypillisinä luetteloina (IX, X, XI, XIV). Ainesten eriytymättömyyttä kuvaa hyvin se, että luetteloa voidaan jatkaa lyriikan Ihmetupa-aihelman assosiaatiolla (XI). Satunnaisesti ähky voidaan mainita Syöjättären synnyttämäksi tai hänen luotaan löytyneeksi (VI, XII).
