Dictionary Coverage Dashboard

Visualises how 9 Estonian and Finnish dictionaries (EMS, EKSS, Idamurre, ERLA, Moistatuste, Seto, SMS, KKS, VKS) cover the 1.48M Finnic runosong wordforms. Shows per-dictionary bars with unique-word counts, the N-dictionary overlap histogram, and pairwise intersection heatmap.

Per-dictionary coverage

Bars show the percentage covered by each dictionary against the March 2026 snapshot corpus of 1,013,711 word forms – not against the 1,480,739 total shown above, which counts the full wordform index. ET dictionaries (EMS, EKSS, Idamurre, ERLA, Moistatuste, Seto) cover smaller subsets but include valuable dialectal material. FI dictionaries (SMS, KKS, VKS) cover larger subsets because Finnish has richer dictionary infrastructure. "Unique" shows words that only this dictionary covers.

How many dictionaries cover each word

Pairwise overlap (top 6 dictionaries)

Cell values are the number of wordforms both dictionaries cover (in thousands). The diagonal shows each dictionary's own total. SMS + KKS show the highest Finnish-Finnish overlap; EMS + EKSS the highest Estonian-Estonian overlap.
