Lasta kylvetettäessä luetut loitsu muodostavat heterogeenisen ryhmän, joista tähän ryhmään on kerätty ne loitsut, joissa kysymyksessä on sairauden parantaminen tai terveyden ylläpitäminen. Tyypillisiä elementtejä ovat löylyn luvut, yleiset kylvetyssanat, taudinsyyn tiedustelut ja karkotussanat.
Jos loitsun tekstissä tai kontekstitiedossa mainitaan selkeä sairaus, on teksti sijoitettu ko. taudin yhteyteen. Lasten kylvettäminen kiroista tai kateista muodostaa tulkinnanvaraisen tapauksen, koska yleisissä kylvetyssanoissa viitataan usein kiroihin ja kateisiin mahdollisina taudinsyinä. Yleiset hyväluonteisuuden kylvetykset sekä vastasyntyneen lapsen kylvettämiseen liittyvät loitsut muodostavat omat ryhmänsä.
