The archive’s description
Written by the editors of the SKVR type index and quoted as it stands, in Finnish.
Tiirin liirin linnun poika (tii tii tiainen, vati kuti varpunen; kiuru liuru linnukkainen jne.), missä sulla pesä on? Heinikossa ruohikossa, kukkakuusen alla; Kuivan kuusen oksalla, lahokannon päässä jne.
Varsinais-Suomessa (VIII) vastauksena esiintyy yleisesti: Taivaan kirkkaan kannen alla, siellä rikkaat riitelevät, talonpojat tappelevat, miehet miekoil, vaimot tankoil, piiat pienil vitsasilla, lapset laikka lastusilla.
Metsä-Suomessa (VII5) ja Pohjois-Hämeessä (IX2) kysymyksen sijasta esiintyy toteamus: Kyllä tiijän pesäis paikan, mäen alla männikössä, kuivan kuusen kukkuralla. Tuules on tupais, korves on kotis, kalliol on kartanois -säkeiden kautta aihe vertautuu >Nuku nuku nurmilintu -aiheeseen.
