The archive’s description

Written by the editors of the SKVR type index and quoted as it stands, in Finnish.

Juhlapyhänä (jouluna, jyrinpäivänä, juhannuksena, laskiaisena, kiirastorstaina) tai karjaa ensi kertaa laitumelle laskiessa luettiin lyhyitä loitsuja, jotta karja palaisi kotiin lypsylle. Karjaa mm. kehotettiin palaamaan tiettyyn aikaan, muistamaan jälkensä ja kotinsa. Mukana myös sanoja, joita esitetty karjaa kotiin ajaessa (XIV).
