The archive’s description

Written by the editors of the SKVR type index and quoted as it stands, in Finnish.

Läävämadon (talvikon) jälkeä parannettiin karjasta käärmeen sanoja muistuttavilla sanoilla, joiden keskeisiä aineksia ovat läävämadon puhuttelut, elinympäristön ja ulkonäön kuvaukset, syntyaihelmat, sekä kehotukset parantaa aiheuttamansa paha. Loitsuissa esiintyy myös erilaisia parannussanoja. Läävämadon runsaat toisintonimet liittävät eläimen myös esim. tarhakäärmeeseen.
