Käärmeen pureman parantamiseen luetut Käärmeen sanat muodostavat laajan loitsuston, johon kuuluu runsaasti erilaisia käärmeen alkuperään, elinympäristöön, ulkonäköön etc. liittyviä aihelmia, näihin perustuvia puhutteluja ja manauksia sekä parannussanoja.
