The archive’s description
Written by the editors of the SKVR type index and quoted as it stands, in Finnish.
Ihmetuvan aihelmaksi on tässä ymmärretty säesarjat, joissa kuvataan tuvan tavanomaisesta poikkeavia aineksia: oviseinät osmanluusta, karsina kalevanluusta, sivuseinä sirkun luusta, laki lahnan suomuksista jne.
Aihe on kiinnittynyt myös häärunostoon juhlatuvan (Häätupa, I-II, III) ja kehtolauluun (Tuuti lasta Tuonelaan, Länsi-Suomi) haudan kuvaukseksi. Tähän on poimittu muut vaihtelevissa yhteyksissä esiintyvät: esim. Pakeneva- ketjurunossa, lyyris-eeppisissä runoissa (esim. Kullan kutsut), eläinloruissa (esim. >Hiiren häät), loitsuissa (esim. >Löylyn sanat, Polvenhaava, Hämähäkin sanat, >Karhun vakat) ja pitolauluissa (Tanssituvan pyyntö, Tapanin virsi).
