The archive’s description

Written by the editors of the SKVR type index and quoted as it stands, in Finnish.

Perusajatus lapsesta tuudittavan äidin tulevana turvana - Tuuti/Tuudin lasta turvakseni, vanhan päiväni varaksi - jatkuu usein pettymyksen tai ennustuksen aihein: Ei tullut emolle turva - tuli turva toisen naisen/miehen - rikkahalle riihen puija jne., (ks. myös Emo tuuti turvaksensa) tai todetaan: Jo on turva Tuonelassa/turpehessa (ks. Minun on turva turpehessa). Länsi-Suomessa (VIII, X, XIV) lapsi tokaisee kehdosta: sen verran sinulla on turvaa minusta kuin vuohella vohlastaan.

Kehtolaulun ja teeman lyyrisen muodon ero on usein olematon; kokonaiskuvan saamiseksi katsottava molemmat otsikot.
