The archive’s description

Written by the editors of the SKVR type index and quoted as it stands, in Finnish.

Tulen, kuuman veden, höyryn tai esim. metallin aiheuttamaa palanutta parannettiin tulen sanoilla, joissa tyypillisiä aineksia ovat tulen syntyaihelmat, avunpyynnöt, kuvaukset palaneen jäähdyttämisestä, kastelusta ja voitelusta sekä kipusanat. Jäähdyttäjänä esiintyy tyypillisesti hyistä rekeä vetävä hyinen tyttö ja kastelijana Ukon nostama sade. Palanutta vammaa kutsuttiin usein tulen vihoiksi, jonka parantamisen sanat "ota vihasi" jne. yhdistävät tulen sanoja myös ryhmiin Tulesta tarttuu ja Löylyn luku. Tulen assosioituminen kipuun ja jäähtymisen assosioituminen parantumiseen aiheuttaa tulen sanojen kaltaisten ilmausten käyttöä yleisinä parannuskliseinä (esim. hyytyminen verensulkusanoissa), joita ei ole koottu tulen sanoihin.
